Why I love it: The hilarious banter between the cohosts, PJ Vogt and Alex Goldman pretty much makes the show. I also love the fact that it keeps me “in the know” about all things internet trendy (especially with their “Yes Yes No” segments), but it is balanced with more in depth pieces too.

Favorite Episode: Zardulu

Best when: You are just getting started on the drive and aren't ready for the music yet.

Modern Love

Why I love it: These stories are a good reminder of how difficult but also beautiful love can be. And in general, a reminder of our shared humanity.

Favorite Episode: A Heart Outrun

Best when: You are in the mood for all the feels.

Ear Hustle

Why I love it: The podcast is produced in San Quentin prison, by prisoners. It's kind of nice to be able to see inside through the lens of the prisoners themselves and get some perspective on our penal system.

Favorite Episode: The Boom Boom Room

Best when: You want a laugh.

Planet Money

Why I love it: The episodes are short, digestible, and always about something relevant to economic theory - and your own life.

Favorite Episode: Robert and Kenny Go To The Fair

Best when: You are short on time or want to slip in an episode between playlists.

Embedded

Why I love it: Chock full of awesome, well reported human interest stories on topics you might not otherwise think about.

Favorite Episode: The House

Best when: You have some time for the heavy stuff.

99% Invisible

Why I love it: These stories are always about dissecting things in the world around you that are, truly, "99 percent invisible". I find it helpful not only as a person experiencing the world but as a product manager thinking about how users engage with their environment.

Favorite Episode: Mojave Phone Booth

Best when: You are doing pretty much anything.

The Dirtbag Diaries

Why I love it: Listening to other people’s epic adventures in nature is alluring!

Favorite Episode: The Ultimate Weekend Warrior

Best when: You’re headed out on a hike or camping trip.

Crimetown

Why I love it: It’s historical without being boring, because it focuses on the politics of Rhode Island from the perspective of the mafia world.

Favorite Episode: Start at the beginning - it's a chronological story.

Best when: You have a few hours to binge.

S town

Why I love it: I’m a sucker for human interest stories, especially in places I’ve never been to - like Alabama.

Favorite Episode: Start at the beginning - it's a chronological story.

Best when: You have a few hours to binge.

Serial

Why I love it: I mean, this is the podcast that put podcasts on the map. It's absolutely riveting non-fiction.

Favorite Episode: Start at the beginning - it's a chronological story.

Best when: You have a LOT of time.
